Changes in the law – more foreigners entitled to obtain a Polish travel document for a foreigner
The changes introduced as of 1 January 2023 allow Polish travel documents to be issued to foreigners who have obtained a temporary residence permit in accordance with Article 186(1)(9) of the Act of on foreigners of 12 December 2013 . That applies to foreigners who, immediately prior to submitting an application for this permit, were residing on the territory of the Republic of Poland on the basis of a national visa issued for the purposes referred to in Article 60(1)(23) (on the basis of the so-called ‘humanitarian visa’) and possess citizenship defined in the provisions issued pursuant to Article 186(5).
The changes introduced now thus apply to Belarusian nationals holding the listed type of temporary residence permit.
