Document confirming the right of permanent residence

First document issued

A document proving the right of permanent residence shall be issued to a United Kingdom citizen who is a beneficiary of the Withdrawal Agreement who has acquired that right, in accordance with the conditions set out in Chapter 4. Act of 14 July 2006 on entry into, stay and exit from the territory of the Republic of Poland of citizens of the Member States of the European Union and their family members. To obtain it, an application for a document confirming the right of permanent residence should be submitted to the locally competent voivode. This application shall, as a rule, be made in person.

However, the requirement to appear in person to submit an application does not apply to minors who have not reached the age of 6 by the date of submitting the application and to persons who have been completely incapacitated. In addition, the requirement to appear in person to submit an application may be waived in particularly justified cases, including due to the applicant's state of health. The application shall be accompanied by up-to-date photographs of the applicant. More information related to the procedure for applying for extradition of a United Kingdom citizen who is a beneficiary of the Withdrawal Agreement confirming the right of permanent residence can be found HERE.

The document confirming the right of permanent residence is issued with a 10-year validity period.

The receipt by a citizen of the United Kingdom of a document confirming the right of permanent residence is possible upon presentation of a valid travel document or other valid document confirming their identity and nationality.

If the document confirming the right of permanent residence has been issued to a minor who has not reached the age of 13 by the date of its receipt, or to a person completely incapacitated, the document shall be collected by the parent, legal guardian, or curator, respectively, upon presentation of a valid document confirming their identity.

Receipt of a document confirming the right of permanent residence issued to a person who is completely incapacitated or a minor who has reached the age of 6 by the date of submitting the application for a document confirming the right of permanent residence, requires the presence of this person.

In particularly justified cases, including due to the applicant's state of health, the receipt of a document confirming the right of permanent residence may be made by a representative, on the basis of a special power of attorney to receive this document, upon presentation of a document confirming their identity.
