Certificate of registration of residence

The holder of a residence registration certificate shall be obliged to return it to the authority which issued it where:

• acquired Polish citizenship;

• a decision has been issued to revoke the registration of residence;

• obtained a document confirming the right of permanent residence.

The document must be returned immediately, but no later than within 14 days from the date on which:

• the holder of the document was served with a document confirming the acquisition of Polish citizenship or

• the decision to cancel the registration of residence has become final, or

• the holder of the document has received the document confirming the right of permanent residence.

Note: at the request of the holder of the document who returned it, the authority to which the document was returned shall issue a certificate of return free of charge, valid for a period of 30 days.
